Public users and franchise buyers can search the register and view franchise profiles.

Find help to resolve a franchising dispute

The ACCC website has guidance on resolving franchising disputes.

The Australian Small Business and Family Enterprise Ombudsman (ASBFEO) can help franchisees resolve business disputes. The Ombudsman can refer you to trained mediators and arbitrators with commercial experience located across Australia.

Visit the Australian Small Business and Family Enterprise Ombudsman (ASBFEO). You can make an enquiry online, email info@asbfeo.gov.au or call 1300 650 460.

Report a franchising issue

The ACCC accepts and records information about business practices and behaviours that are concerning to you. It doesn’t give legal advice or resolve individual franchising disputes.

Information from reports helps the ACCC understand the big issues in franchising.

Research a franchise before you buy

If you're thinking about buying a franchise, use the register to find information about the franchise system.

If a franchisor is not on the register, you should be careful before handing over any money or signing any documents from them. They are unlikely to be a legitimate franchise system and may even be a scam.

Read the ACCC’s guide about how you can stay protected from scams.
